Family Baking Class in Butter Lane Bakery via Vimbly

If you follow me on snapchat you might know how much I love cooking/baking and getting my family involved. Today I'm going to be talking about our recent Vimbly experience baking cupcakes at Butter Lane bakery in the East Village.

If you're wondering "What Is Vimbly?" -Vimbly is a website where you go to book fun experiences. You can find things to do tonight, tomorrow or next week. Their activities vary from date night, cruises and sailing to everything in between. They even have a section just for kids.

Something I always do is give experiences as gifts. On Birthdays, Anniversaries, Valentines Day, etc... Therefore, never expect an actual present from me, haha.

I believe that sharing an activity/experience/ a moment, is more meaningful than any item. Doing something that you'll enjoy is going to stay in your memory forever rather than an item given to you by someone which is going to be pilled up with all the other stuff you have.. you know what I mean?

Last Sunday, my family and I was offered a cupcake making class via Vimbly to try out and share our experience on the blog and social media accounts. "What was the special occasion?" you may ask, well.. you don't really need an occasion to make cupcakes, do you?

This was one of the best family experiences we've ever done. We all lent a hand in making the cupcakes and frosting. My daughters are obsessed with Cupcake Wars and they really felt like mini bakers this day. Not only were we having family time, learning how to bake as well as mingling with the rest of the class. There was an instructor on site at all times telling us the instructions which made everything a lot easier.

We were divided into 3 groups, four people in each group. Every group made a different flavored cupcake and two frostings. My family and I made banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and cinnamon cream cheese frosting (it was thee best and i'm not just saying that because we made it!). One other group made chocolate cupcakes with reese's peanut butter frosting and chocolate frosting. The third group made vanilla cupcakes with vanilla bean frosting and raspberry frosting.

Let's just take a moment to think about the amazing smells lingering in the room :)

After baking and frosting the cupcakes we were able to take home all of our creations. 9 cupcakes per person! Now, times that by 4 of us!! That's a lot of deliciousness!
