Everything is better as a SET

I've been wanting to wear this Love Buzz Strappy Bodycon Set from Tobi for awhile now. Over the weekend I visited Lake Placid, NY and finally got to wear it to a private lunch with my husband (indoors). 

Like the title states, 'Everything is better as a SET'! It's much easier wear when you only need to think about the shoes and accessories. You can also wear the items separately as I did in a previous post, here. I paired the set with my Gucci sandals.

A Party City Party

I'm so excited to finally share photos of my girls birthday party!
It took me a while to post only because I wanted to share as information as possible.

On April 9th, I celebrated Leanne's and Zareena's birthday at our house.

I wanted to do something special this year round, since I've never celebrated their birthdays this way. We annually cut a small cake (just the 4 of us) and sing happy birthday to each of them since their birthday is only ten days apart. 

The theme of the party was initially cupcakes. Unfortunately, a few things didn't arrive on time and I had to get creative with what we had. Continue reading to see more photos and find out how all this was possible.

New York Minute

Over the weekend I attended a Tanger Outlets + StyleWatch event and wore this look. Since I didn't post it on social media I thought it would be a good idea to share the details on here.

Initially I wanted to wear a skirt which came with this crop-top as a set from Tobi. It got chilly so I had to change into these awesome pants. I've had these Zamrie pants for a few years now, and I've never styled them the same. They are super versatile and perfect all year round. Throw on a denim jacket like this one from Madewell + a fedora and you're ready to go! Let's not forget a pop of color! This bag is one of my favorites from Henri Bendel.

El fin de semana asistí a un evento de Tanger Outlets + StyleWatch. Este fue el look que llevaba. Ya que no lo compartí en los medios sociales pensé que sería una buena idea compartir los detalles aquí.

Inicialmente quería usar una falda, que vino con este crop-top como un conjunto de Tobi. Hacía frío, así que tuve que cambiar me en estos pantalones. He tenido estos pantalones desde hace años, y nunca los he puesto de la misma manera. Son super versátil y perfecto todo el año. Me tire una chaqueta de mezclilla de Madewell + un sombrero de fieltro.

No puedes olvidar un toque de color! Esta bolsa es una de mis favoritas de Henri Bendel.

Another year, another Mother's Day!

2015 was the year of 2015 was the year of growth for me. I've learned a lot about myself and my family. I also learned to put more thought into everything I do and that includes gifts I give to my friends and family.

Bringing you back to December 2011 when I first started this blog for two reasons. One being, I needed to express myself with a broader audience through fashion/lifestyle which is something I've always loved. The other reason I started NYTM was because I didn't find inspiration from any other young mothers in the industry. I saw a huge gap which I soon fill when I started blogging (according to publishers and my readers). I am so grateful for all I have achieved these few years, the amazing companies I have worked with and the exclusive brands who have allowed me to feature of their pieces on NYTM. As you all see, a lot has changed throughout these few years, my style has evolved and my voice has only gotten louder. Yet, one thing remains the same...And that one thing is being a mother.

Spring Floral || JCPenney

Hello April and Happy Friday!
Nothing screams out Spring like a pretty floral dress. Especially if it's affordable!! 

I visited JCPenney the other day and picked up a few goodies for Spring. One of the items I bought was this blue floral dress along with this beautiful detailed cardigan. & that's not the best part!! JCPenney had a sweet deal which I took advantage of. I bought one item and the other one came out to 1 cent. Can you believe it!? When I come across deals like this I feel like I've hit the jackpot and I have to make the purchase. 

I'm sure you all can relate. 

Three Trending Kid-Friendly Neighborhoods in NYC

New York City is a diverse city comprised of separate neighborhoods, each possessing unique characteristics. When determining which neighborhood is best for your family, prospective buyers and renters should take factors, such as low crime rates, highly-rated school districts and kid-friendly amenities, into consideration.

Here are three trending kid-friendly neighborhoods in NYC.

Upper West Side

The Upper West Side is best known for its artistic charm and spectacular museums. Notable attractions include the New York Historical Society, Children's Museum of Manhattan, the Lincoln Center and the American Museum of Natural History. Beyond the Upper West Side's cultural edge, this neighborhood also provides sprawling greenery thanks to its proximity to public parks. Enjoy a picnic on Central Park's Great Lawn, rent bikes for an active family outing or head to Riverside Park for a walk along the promenade with stunning views of the Hudson River. The Upper West Side often feels like a mini suburban city thanks to the brownstones, grassy lawns, playgrounds and large abundance of schools. With a median home value of $1,279,500, living on the Upper West Side comes with a steep price tag, and prices are expected to rise another 8.5 percent this year.

Park Slope

Located in northwest Brooklyn, Park Slope is considered one of the most desirable family-friendly neighborhoods in New York City. Park Slope is home to a variety of attractions, such as the Brooklyn Conservatory, Brooklyn Children's Museum and Greenmarket at Grand Army Plaza, where locals have access to fresh produce, local artists and family-friendly activities. Park Slope also neighbors the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Prospect Park, home to the Prospect Park Zoo, perfect for family outings. Beyond the plethora of readily available attractions, low crime rate and vast green spaces, this Brooklyn neighborhood is also home to some of the best public, private and charter schools in New York City. With a median home value of $1,105,000, Park Slope has a very hot housing market, and Zillow predicts that home values will continue to rise by 7.4 percent in 2016.

Battery Park City

Nearly one third of the residents in Battery Park City have kids and family-friendly activities are consistently within reach. If you're looking to catch some rays, head to Teardrop Park, equipped with giant slides and spraying geysers, or explore the Battery Park Conservatory Parkhouse in Rockefeller Park, to utilize the ping-pong, hockey and other free sporting equipment. For a more relaxed afternoon, walk to South Cove Park where adults can attend art classes, walk along the peaceful esplanades or visit the Battery Park City Library, the first greed LEED-certified library branch in Manhattan. With a median home sales price of $850,000, Battery Park City is roughly $255,000 less than the median home values in both the Upper West Side and Park Slope neighborhoods. Battery Park City is also home to Stuyvesant High School, one of the city's best high schools, making this neighborhood a popular destination for families.

Finding the best neighborhood for your family ultimately depends on your personal preferences and needs. While the Upper West Side, Park Slope and Battery Park City are three trending kid-friendly neighborhoods to consider, New York City-bound families should review the available homes and rentals in the community to find a property that best fits their needs.
