Sosua, Dominican Republic

The property is called Hispaniola Beach and it's located in the north coast of the Dominican Republic between white beaches and blue water. The town is called Sosua which is 15 minutes away from Puerto Plata airport and it's only a few minutes away from restaurants and nightlife.

However, Sosua is by far my most favorite place in the entire Dominican Republic. This property is the place you only see in movies. The place you dream of. The place that seems unreachable. The place to desire when stressed and need to forget about the world. You literally find yourself in the middle of paradise in a secluded area with only a few guards passing by. Being a few steps away from the beach and an infinity pool is all every asked for. I love the fact that it felt like home, a more luxurious home of course. Waking up to the most charming lighting coming from the balcony in our bedroom was magical. Listening to the birds chirping hiding in all the colorful flowers.  The staff were very helpful and answered to all our needs. Daily maids come in to tidy up, I specially loved this service because my two girls are extremely messy. They also offer daily chefs and massage therapists (extra charge).  My family and I have been to the Bahamas, London, Bangladesh, Paris, Dubai and nothing compares. I mean, this was 10x better than any resort I've ever stayed at. Not to mention the sweet chauffeur who picked us up and dropped us off to/from Santo Domingo. Our bilingual chauffeur Leandro was extremely informative as we passed through different towns and plantations. We took a shorter route and drove through many towns such as Palo Amarillo, Moca, Palo Blanco and many more. We made a few stops to use the restroom and visited local sweet shops where we had a delicious majarete (corn pudding). Leandro is from Sosua and was the ideal person to answer all the questions we had. 

We walked though the local shops searching for activities to do while there. We ended up at a shop and booked an all-day trip to Playa Arena or better known as fantasy island ( full details and photos coming soon). In this wonderland there are great restaurants, hair salon, barbershops, money exchange places, Bon ice cream shops, markets, tourist excursions, etc. All within walking distance of the gated area. I simply loved this property and cannot wait to go back!
